By fiscal 2002, Takara Shuzo had obtained ISO 14001 certification for all its plants, branches and the Main Office (including Total Management Business Co., Ltd. and Takara Network System Co., Ltd. located in the same building). In January 2005, we obtained integrated ISO 14001 certification. Currently, led by the ISO Environmental Main Division, we are implementing activities to achieve environmental goals directly connected to management, by aligning the goals for our Medium-Term Management Plan with those for ISO 14001.
Each site is engaged in specific activities, with the environmental managers playing a central role.

Compliance with Relevant Environmental Laws
To prevent environmental pollution, Takara Shuzo implements environmental management that not only observes the related laws and regulations, but goes a step further with independent standards and guidelines. Effectively using the companywide program that enabled the acquisition of ISO 14001 certification, we perform periodic reviews and verify compliance with laws. Takara was not in violation of any environmental laws during fiscal year 2006.
