Reducing copier paper
At Takara Network System we use multi-function copiers with printing, copying, faxing and scanning functions. Documents are stored in an electronic PDF form and incoming faxes are checked on the PC screen, which effectively reduces the amount of paper used. Furthermore, electronically controlled documents can easily be searched and will never be lost. Handwritten notes can also be scanned and stored electronically and managed in PCs and attached to e-mails. Takara Network System is promoting the introduction of multi-function copiers to other group companies. |

Developing Environmentally Friendly Products
Taps for 1.8-liter sake bottles are made of compound material of plastic and metal, but they are classified as other plastics` in the Recycling Law due to their weight ratio. We changed the specifications of taps according to the classification in the Recycling Law, and introduced all-plastic taps for 1.8-liter bottles of Sho-Chiku-Bai Gokai. We will continue to introduce this tap for other products, as well. |

Promotion of Environmentally Friendly Products
Bulk sale systems stand on the cooperation of customers, who bring pet bottles, talk directly to sales assistants and buy the amount they need. We are proud of our contribution to reducing waste and savings resources and energy through these efforts. I provide detailed information on Takara Shuzos environmental conservation initiatives more passionately than when talking about our products to retailers when newly encouraging the launch of bulk sales. After providing an explanation of our strenuous efforts to retailers, I always feel good on my way home. |

Introducing More Low-Emission Vehicles for Sales Operations
We first introduced an eco-friendly hybrid vehicle for our sales operations to the Keiji Hokuriku Branch in 2004. Hybrid cars that are fuel efficient (running on 35.5km/kl), make less engine noise and are easier-to-drive compared with gas-powered vehicles, will have a favorable impact on sales operations from an environmental point of view, and also help in that they require less frequent fueling, have less of an impact on the surroundings and are beneficial in terms of drivers fatigue levels. Sometimes we receive compliments on the car from our customers. We plan to increase the number of hybrid cars in our 17-vehicle fleet in the future. |

Promoting Environmental Communication
In order to solve environmental problems, collaboration among citizens, industry, government and academia is necessary. At Takara Shuzo we will promote bilateral communication among concerned parties through the Green-Ink Corporate Report, exhibitions, the Internet, industrial and cross-industry exchanges, lectures at universities and by accepting interviews from students. |
