Cooperation with Partners

Shift from One-way Packaging to Returnable Packaging Succeeded by Collaboration with a Material Manufacturer

External shrink films for Takara Shochu 220-ml Takara Cup were delivered to factories by means of cardboard boxes. Based on a suggestion by a material manufacturer, we changed the carrying method of shrink films for the items whose procurement lots are larger. We now receive the film that is directly placed in a container.
In cooperation with the material manufacturer, we were able to achieve a reduction of 8 tons of cardboard annually by changing the packaging at the time of procurement from cardboard boxes for one-way use to returnable containers.

Addressing Social Issues in Cooperation with Related Organizations

There are a number of problems to be addressed by the industry as a whole in container recycling. Takara Shuzo has joined container recycling organizations and is actively involved in the operations and other activities of these organizations. Companies that usually compete in business have joined forces to come up with ideas and to establish efficient recycling systems with the common objective of promoting recycling. Educational activities for container recycling are widely implemented through organizations’ journals, websites and exhibitions.

Communicating with Customers, in Cooperation with Related Organizations

Customer Service staff at Takara Shuzo belong to the Association of Consumer Affairs Professionals (ACAP)* and through the association’s activities, participate and cooperate in consumer events hosted by the government and by prefectures. For example, our employees serve as lecturers at seminars for consumers and have face-to-face talks with customers at exhibitions. In this way, we exchange information with our customers.

* The Association of Consumer Affairs Professionals: A public interest corporation with members comprising customer affairs staff from various industries and companies. (ACAP)
