For Our Customers' iki-iki (Happiness)

We Value Communication with Customers

Takara Shuzo places utmost importance on communication with customers so it can be a company that can repay customers’ trust and live up to their expectations.

Role and System of the Customer Service Office

The Customer Service Office receives about 12,000 opinions and inquiries from customers annually. We listen sincerely to each inquiry and try to work as a bridge between customers and Takara Shuzo so that we can continually offer products of ever-higher quality in the safest way possible.
As upheld by Takara Shuzo in its principle Code of Conduct—“When the Customer Is Iki-Iki (Happy), We Are Iki-Iki”—we accumulate all feedback from customers in the database and, with the necessary protection in place to guard the personal information of customers, make it available to all employees. Serving as a contact point for customers, the Customer Service Office staff endeavor to deal in the most appropriate manner with customers, making every effort to provide “sincere, prompt and reliable” service.

Examples of frequently asked questions

Q1: How long do sake products keep for?
A1: Ordinary sake products are good for approximately one year after the month of manufacture if they are not opened. Junmaishu is good for about 10 months and Namazake is good for about six months. After these periods, the flavor of the product is gradually lost. Yet, you can still drink such products and your health will not be affected. Indeed, some sake lovers enjoy old sake, describing the flavor as “a more mature sake taste.”

Q2: My Hon-Mirin has turned brown. Can I use it safely?
A2: Sugar and amino acid contained in mirin react over time (amino-carbonyl reaction) and the product undergoes a color change. Coloring progresses rapidly when the product is stored at a high temperature. Even when the product turns brown, the quality will not be affected if it is before the use-by date.
