Compliance and Risk Management Systems
In April 2004, the Takara Group established a Compliance Committee to reinforce the group’s compliance and risk management systems.
We compiled the Compliance Manual to explain, in easy-to-understand terms, the actions each Takara Group employee should take. We also conduct group training sessions and educational activities at the office level to establish the concept of compliance clearly in our employees’ minds. We also identify risks for the Group and for each work site and implement countermeasures immediately, wherever applicable.
Help-lines have also been established both inside and outside the company to report risks and find solutions at an early stage. The help-lines facilitate employees reporting violations of the law or misconduct.
_ Quality Assurance
To assure safety, quality and the legality of products and give-away merchandise, Takara Shuzo has been innovate in designing and labeling products and inspecting give-aways. At the same time, we have set up an organization dedicated to quality assurance tasks that conducts quality audits at our plants as well as at subcontractors, in an effort to enhance company-wide quality control levels.
_ Drinking Issues
It is said that drinking alcohol in reasonable amounts has a role in reducing stress levels and facilitating human relations. On the other hand, drinking brings potential problems such as organ damage from chronic drinking, alcohol dependency, underage drinking, and adverse effects on the fetus for pregnant women. In recognition of these problems, Takara implements a variety of programs to instill proper drinking habits from the viewpoint of helping people maintain and improve their health and fulfilling our social responsibilities as a company engaged in the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages.
_ Environmental Issues
Fundamentally, all corporate activities place a load on the global environment. Taking this fact seriously, we are promoting environmental activities in an effort to reduce the burden on the global environment and to return business profits to society. We regard efforts that encourage natural preservation activities and other social contribution activities to be our corporate responsibility.
_ Management of information
In handling corporate and personal information, we have taken all possible measures to prevent leakage of information, including establishing a control structure and assigning persons in charge. We also hold training sessions for employees on a continuous basis.
_ Information disclosure
In order to disclose information to stockholders and other stakeholders, Takara Holdings Inc. has a responsibility to distribute financial statements, business reports, annual reports and others. We proactively disclose information through the Stock Exchange and the websites of Takara Holdings Inc. as well as through Financial Result Meetings and IR meetings. |
