Every year, an enormous number of health drink products come onto the market. However, at Takara Shuzo we always endeavor to supply health drinks that have real value for our customers, rather than following the latest trend. Our product concept is for customers of all ages to be able to enjoy our products on a daily basis and over a long period to maintain good health. It brings me great pleasure to hear customers expressing their delight and satisfaction with our products based on this concept. We will continue to develop products that can win the approval of our customers.

We hope to expand sales channels

Bulk selling is an effort to achieve zero-emissions for containers and packaging through concerted efforts by customers, retailers and Takara Shuzo. This system cannot function without the cooperation of those people and entities that are involved. In order to introduce this system throughout Japan, there are some improvements to be made. For example, the tanks should be made easier to install in stores. We are making efforts every day to improve the system.

Bulk sales have brought about lively conversations with customers and increased repeat sales

“It is hard to collapse a PET bottle down to throw it out.” The voice of the customer created an opportunity to reintroduce bulk selling, which used be the way that liquor was sold in the old days. The merits of bulk selling are that you can buy the amount of shochu you drink daily inexpensively, which is an environmentally-friendly consumption style. Bulk selling gradually spread by word of mouth and now it is appreciated by a wide group of customers. Sales of alcoholic beverages tend to get caught up in price competition. However, bulk selling provides us with the chance to make face-to-face contact with customers and to propose a variety of ways of enjoying alcoholic beverages. The selling system is also useful in securing customer loyalty.

The customers’ voice is a gold mine

Takara Shuzo has a variety of product offerings ranging from shochu, sake, and seasonings to healthful beverages. To be able to satisfy any customer’s inquiries, it is vital to collect information and to study. We often receive thank-you emails and letters. I feel a sense of fulfillment when someone says “thank you” before I put the phone down.

I believe that there are some hints for improvement in honest opinions and suggestions. Because I listen to customer’s first-hand opinions, I often receive inquiries from other departments in the company. It gives me great pleasure to witness the voice of the customer being incorporated into new product designs and reflected in our products.
