Cooperation with Partners

Striving to Become a Company Appreciated by Customers and Needed by the Society, in Cooperation with Client Companies and Related Organizations

Takara Shuzo wishes to be a company trusted and needed by consumers and all client companies as a member of society. We endeavor to gain the knowledge of laws related to corporate activities and to ensure compliance with such laws. We also try to vitalize business operations and to contribute to society, in cooperation with our client companies and related organizations.

Cooperation with Client Companies

Maintain Fair Transactions

The Takara Group Compliance Code of Conduct stipulates fair corporate activities. Specifically, the code specifies that Takara shall comply with the Anti-monopoly Law and the Unfair Competition Prevention Law, shall maintain fair and free competition between companies, shall not use exaggerated advertisements, shall not use malicious expressions about other companies or words that may lead to social discrimination in advertising, and shall not post any descriptions that may result in false expectations by consumers, in accordance with related laws on product labeling. Especially for descriptions that contain many requirements, information is shared through a database and verified jointly by related departments.

In purchasing, we participate in external seminars on the Subcontractor Law and conduct internal seminars to ensure compliance with the laws. We endeavor to deal with client companies sensibly and honestly and to maintain impartial and fair transactions. The Compliance Code of Conduct is implemented thoroughly by all employees via compliance committee members in each department who have received regular training on compliance.

Promote the Sharing of Information

Takara Shuzo promotes active communication with client companies by hosting seminars and lecture meetings etc., in addition to routine information exchange through business operations.

For example, we hosted a Food Seminar in Beijing, China on March 18, 2004. Staff of Beijing Takara Shuzo Brewery Co., Ltd. spoke on manufacturing and control of products and the effects of sake-based seasonings on cooking for food processing companies. On February 18, 2005, we hosted a Seminar on the Effectiveness of Sake in Okayama and invited lecturers. Client companies and our employees learned about food together.

We also allow our client companies to inspect our manufacturing processes and host other study sessions in order for our partners to gain deeper product knowledge.

Vitalizing Local Communities and Selling Space

Prize-winning display in the mass display contest

Takara Shuzo is aiming for “win-win” relationships that have beneficial effects on both parties by responding to the needs of client companies and by cooperating with them.

For example, Shochu “ZIPANG” is used for regional vitalization and PR using regional bottle versions. There are Shochu “ZIPANG” Kyoto Kiyamachi bottle and Sakura (cherry blossom) and Matsuri (festival) bottles for each locality. For Expo 2005 in Aichi, we created an original bottle to help energize the world exposition.

We conducted a mass display contest for Sho-Chiku-Bai “Ten.” Volume of display and selling floor presentation were contended. We received feedback saying that the contest led to the revitalization of retailers by encouraging them to create better selling spaces through the concerted efforts of sales representatives of client companies and Takara Shuzo. We will continue to maximize the effect of “win-win” relationships.

Cooperation with Related Organizations

Promoting Container Recycling

There are a number of problems to be addressed by the industry as a whole in promoting container recycling. Takara Shuzo not only focuses its own efforts on promoting container recycling, but also participates actively in recycling industry organizations to establish efficient recycling systems and implement activities to promote recycling. Companies that usually take different positions and compete in business activities have come together through these recycling organizations and hold regular meetings with active discussion, in an effort to achieve the common goal of container recycling.

Educational activities for container recycling are widely implemented through the organizations’ magazines, websites and exhibitions.
