Environmental Impact Atmospheric Emissions and Effluents From our Factories Atmospheric Emissions and Effluents Accompanying Production and Distribution of Products In FY 1999, we reduced volumes of CO2, NOx, and SOx emissions, both total volume and volume per unit of production, due to the promotion of energy efficiency within the production sections. The decrease in CO2 emissions is attributable to a switch in the fuel for boilers at two factories from crude oil to municipal gas. However, our distribution processes saw a slight increase in total and per-unit emission volumes. We are increasing efforts to increase efficiency in distribution through more efficient truck deliveries. Finally, our effluents are on a downward trend, thanks to installation of water conservation equipment. HOME | TOP |
